The latest release is a collection of works by British organist and composer David Briggs (1962-), following the release of "Notre Dame Mass" (CDA67808) in 2010. Briggs was a student of the famous French organist Jean Langlais, and was the first Englishman to win the Tournemire Prize (for best improvisation) at the St. Albans International Organ Festival competition. Briggs, who was greatly influenced by Jean Langlais and Pierre Cochereau, has also attracted attention as a composer and is considered one of the best improvisers in the world.Watch out for Briggs' brilliant organ improvisations, interspersed with beautiful choral singing by the Leighton & Cambridge Trinity College Choir.
