Description:
Israeli "Multi-Piano Ensemble"! Mozart's Complete Multi-Piano Concertos! Israel's hottest ensemble, the "Multi-Piano Ensemble" is now available on Hyperion! The world premiere recording of the unfinished "Larghetto and Allegro" in a version for two pianos and orchestra! The "Multi Piano Ensemble" was established in 2011 as a project under the Buchman-Meter School of Music (BMSM), which is jointly run by Tel Aviv University and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The ensemble is a unique ensemble specializing in "multi-piano" compositions, ranging from four-handed duets to multiple keyboard instruments, or combinations of multiple pianos and other instruments, and works on original works for multi-pianos, various arrangements, newly discovered works, and completed compositions. The first recording of this highly anticipated project is a recording of Mozart's "The Rise and Fall of the Mozart Family". The first of the highly anticipated recordings is Mozart's complete concertos for "multiple pianos". The highlight is "Larghetto and Allegro," which is said to have been written around 1781 and of which only an unfinished fragment remains. Many pianists, composers, and musicologists from different generations have been fascinated by this work, from Maximilian Stadler (1748-1833) in the old days, to Paul Badura-Skoda and Rovallo Levin in the late 20th century, who created completed versions "for two pianos", In this album, Tomer Lev explores "the possibility that it was intended for two pianos accompanied by an orchestra," and the supplemented and completed version (recorded for the first time in the world) is included as "for two pianos and orchestra.
