The Cinquecento, which has graced its albums with unknown Renaissance programs by Jean Richardfort, Philippe Schöndorff, Philippe De Monte, Jacob Runyar, and others, has recorded a masterpiece, Palestrina's "Jeremiah's Lament". The soft and exquisite ensemble, which has been internationally acclaimed, including a nomination for the British Gramophone Award for Old Music for its previous work "Jean Guyot" (CDA 68180), recreates the sublime music sung during Holy Week in the 16th century.
