Encounters and partings, passion and sorrow, Monteverdi's "Madrigale Collection" is one of the most iconic works of the great 17th century Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643). From the late Madrigale Collection, Volumes 6-8, this collection includes the masterpiece "The Battle of Tancredi and Clorinda" and other ardent and passionate masterpieces of madrigale. The British period ensemble Arcangelo, founded by cellist Jonathan Cohen, is a talented ensemble featuring Bojan Cicich on violin and Jonathan Manson on viola da gamba, etc. This is their fourth release on Hyperion since 2011. The second release, Aria for Guadagni (CDA 67924), won the Gramophone Award for Best Recital in 2012. Tokyo M-Plus
