The C major quartet was one of Rubinshtein's most popular pieces at the time of its composition, but has been forgotten in modern times, and this album is the world premiere recording.Leslie Howard, who boasts numerous world premiere recordings of Liszt's different manuscripts, fragments, and newly discovered works, plays an unknown masterpiece by Rubinshtein, the virtuoso pianist of the Russian Romantic period.
