The Takács String Quartet has been recording mainly Austro-German programs such as Schubert, Brahms, and Schumann for Hyperion since 2006, and now a new Czech album called Smetana & Janacek appears on the label! The first new recording in about 10 years is Smetana's String Quartet No. 1 "From My Life". This is their first recording of Janacek's two string quartets.
