Howard Shelley is a famous English pianist who completed Clementi's "Complete Piano Sonatas" as a pianist and Spohr's "Complete Symphonies (Nos. 1-9)" as a conductor. A master of classical and romantic forms, Howard Shelley's new recording is a collection of piano sonatas by Louis Spohr (1784-1859) and Georges Onslow (1784-1853). Born in 1784, Spohr in Germany and Onslow in France shared a commonality. Although both left behind works in a wide range of genres, they produced few piano works. The "Piano Sonatas," which were born during the transition between the Classical and Romantic periods in Germany and France, are valuable representative works of instrumental music. Tokyo M-Plus
