The final movement of the Florestan Trio. The last recording is Shostakovich! The Florestan Trio, the UK's world-class permanent piano trio, was formed in 1996 following the progressive dissolution of the Dormouse Quartet. The Florestan Trio announced its dissolution at the end of this season after a concert at the Wigmore Hall in January 2012. The Florestan Trio, which has continued to deliver a number of masterpieces, including their masterpiece "French Piano Trios" and performances of Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Schumann, and others, will culminate their activities with their last recording of 20th century Russian composer Shostakovich! The young 17-year-old Shostakovich completed the "Piano Trio No. 1," also called "Poem," during his convalescence, and the "Memorial," one of his masterpieces, which was premiered in 1944, some 20 years later. Piano Trio No. 2" was premiered about 20 years later in 1944 and is considered one of his masterpieces.Susan Gritton, the great British soprano of our time, will sing "Seven Romances Op.172," a "soprano + piano trio" composed for Vishnevskaya and Rostropovich! Shostakovich" is the last recording of the Florestan Trio, and also their last challenge. This is the last recording of the Florestan Trio and their last challenge, "Shostakovich," and we hope that this "final" masterful performance by the famous British piano trio will remain in your hearts and minds.
