Description:
Hyperion's popular "Romantic Concerto Series (RCS)" has finally released the sixth installment of the "Cello" series, featuring works for cello and orchestra by Wu-Tang and Ysaye. The sixth installment of the "Cello" series is a collection of works for cello and orchestra by Wuertin and Ysaye. The Belgian violinist and composer Henri Wuertin (1820-1881) and the violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe (1858-1931), who studied under Wuertin and Wieniawski, were both outstanding virtuosos and composers. This is a unique program of works for "cello" by these two violinists, both of whom were also excellent virtuosos. The soloist is Alban Gerhard, the new emperor of the German cello world, who has also played the cello in Volumes 1, 2 & 4. Gerhard, who is known for his numerous world premiere recordings, is constantly seeking new works and interpretations of the cello works by Wu-Tang and Ysaÿe.Conducted by Josep Cavalier-Domenec, General Music Director of the Staatskapelle Halle and Music Director of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra, the young Spanish maestro, who first gained attention with the Onyx label release of "Respighi: The Roman Triptych (ONYX4083)," makes his Hyperion He will make his debut and showcase his talent with his secret compositions.
