Pianist Fred Thomas, who studied Bach's music and arranged it himself, performed his own arrangements of Bach's music with violinist Aisha Orazbayeva and cellist Lucy Railton, whom he met at the Royal Academy of Music in London when he was 18 years old. The album is a collection of Bach's music in his own arrangements. Thomas invited them to play Bach after their commitment to contemporary music. I was drawn to their special aura of kindness, fun, and enthusiasm, and we really enjoyed making music together," says Thomas. He praises Bach's "Organ Pieces," which comprise most of the album, as a wonderful collection of pieces that is "a treatise on composition, an instrumental manual, a collection of liturgical works, and a religious book.
