Born in Italy in 1987, Vavessa Benelli Moselle began playing the piano at the age of three and was accepted to the Imola Conservatory at the age of seven. After graduating from the Imola Conservatory in 2006, she entered the Moscow Conservatory in 2007. She has already released two albums on Brilliant Classics and two on Decca. In particular, her 2015 release of performances of Scriabin and Stockhausen was acclaimed by numerous music magazines and was the album that established her reputation. This time, she performs Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the London Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Kirill Karabits), the king of the piano repertoire. The beautiful tone, emotional expression, and superb technique were all on display in this splendid performance, which is a fitting demonstration of the pianist's dignity as a leader of the next generation.The transformative expression in "Variations on a Theme by Corelli," in which Rachmaninoff's compositional techniques can be fully appreciated, is also superb!
