"I still can't stop shaking with excitement!" The long-awaited release of Kalaindrou's new legendary live concert in Athens, which has shaken the long history and soul of Greece! Eleni Kalaindrou, a female Greek composer who has made her name by composing music for film and theater, including many Angelopoulos' works. This is her first live set for ECM, a live recording of a concert held in March 2005. The concert, which took place over three days in her hometown of Athens, was a hit in Greece and throughout Europe, and of course the tickets were sold out. The concert was well-received afterwards, and this is a much-anticipated release. Annihilation, departure, exile, and homecoming: these are the themes that Kaline Drew has continued to explore in her music.This theme is repeated in this epic poem, performed by a cast of top-notch artists (including ECM's Manfred Eicher as Artistic and Musical Director). The motifs that have appeared in past ECM productions are reproduced one after another, highlighting the message that she has been trying to convey her entire musical life, and inviting those of us who live in a different history and tradition from hers to share in the empathy and emotional shivers of the performance. This is not the best album of Kaline Dreux, but it is a live performance that contains the essence of her music.
