Description:

The young bassist, who continues his cosmopolitan activities, dedicates this much talked-about work to Baden-Powell. Special participation by Bill Frisell and Ron Carter! The album "3,5,8", produced with Jeff Hirschfield, Billy Drewes and other allies, was released this past February. Guy DuVigneau, a bass player who is rapidly gaining attention, is already releasing a new album. As the title "Baden" suggests, this is a tribute album to Baden Powell (born in 1937, died in 2000), a genius guitarist/composer born in Brazil. It is a pleasure to see Drewes and Hirschfield continue to participate in this album, and "Bluesa Preta/Asa Branca" (M-5) features Ron Carter, one of the longest-serving bassists in the world, as a special guest on twin bass performance, and "Canto de Charismatic guitarist Bill Frisell also joins the band for four songs, including "Canto de Ossanha (Ossanha's Song)" (M-1). The "Baden" album captures Guy DuVigneau at an even larger scale, both musically and in terms of members. Guy Duveineau was born to French parents and grew up in Morocco, the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and Sao Paulo. Inspired by his older brother, who was fascinated by rock and started playing electric guitar, he took up electric bass, but later discovered jazz.Inspired by the works of Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Jaco Pastorius, and others, he made the acoustic bass his primary instrument, while cultivating his own unique musical style by turning to the great Brazilian musicians such as Cartola, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sico Buarchi, Baden Powell, and others. He also developed his own unique musical style, leaning on the great Brazilian musicians such as Cartola, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sico Buarque, Baden Powell, and others. After coming to the United States, he attended Berklee College in Boston. This is his fourth album as a leader. His songwriting is very melodious and rhythmical with a cosmopolitan sensibility, and in this latest album, as mentioned earlier, he has selected and arranged mainly Baden-Powell related numbers. Many of the numbers made famous by Baden's own passionate acoustic guitar playing are presented to today's listeners in a new guise with Frisell's one-of-a-kind electric guitar, Billy Drewes' saxophone, and Guy DuVigneau's solid bass playing. and Guy DuVigneau's solid bass playing, the album is presented to today's listeners in a new look.
