The Cypress String Quartet, based in San Francisco, USA, takes Dvorak's "Cypress" as its ensemble name. Following the ensemble's roots in Dvorak's "Cypress" (AV2275), an American composer of the same generation as Dvorak (AV2304), and the 19th century royal road Schubert (AV2307), the fourth release from Avie features the "Music Saint Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), the "saint of music", in this collection of his mid-period string quartets.
