This is the second concerto album by Tarkovi, principal trumpet of the Berlin Philharmonic, a collection of trumpet concertos by Gabor Tarkovi, following the Italian Trumpet Concerto (TUDOR 7161). Born in Hungary in 1969, Tarkovy has been the solo trumpet player of the Berlin Philharmonic since 2005. While the previous concert focused on Baroque music, this time the focus is on Classical music. The trumpet concerto by Johann Baptist Georg Neruda (1707-1780) is relatively rare. The accompaniment was conducted by Steffens, a clarinetist and conductor who retired from the Berlin Philharmonic in 2007 and is well known to the audience. Tobu Land System
