Three string quartets by Bohemian composers by the Lontano Quartet. Dvorak's "America" and Janacek's "Kreutzer Sonata" are excellent performances, but Bohemian music lovers will be pleased that this CD includes the String Quartet No. 1 by Vladimir Sommer (1921-1997). Vladimir Sommer was a composer born in Horný Žetýn, now near the Czech border with Germany. After studying at the Prague Conservatory, he worked as a composer in the Czech Republic. His String Quartet No. 1 is one of his best-known works. The Lontano Quartet is a young string quartet formed in 2015 by fellow students of the Conservatoire de Paris. Tobu Land System
