The completed version of Mahler's Symphony No. 10 with chamber orchestra by Michele Castelletti is finally available on disc in SACD hybrid format. Although only the first movement of Mahler's Symphony No. 10 is often performed because it was unfinished at the composer's death, it is possible to imagine the entirety of the work to some extent from the remaining drafts. Therefore, Cook's version is the most popular version, and there are many other versions including Carpenter's, Mazzetti's, Barshai's, Wheeler's, and the popular Gamzow's version (KKC5939/WER5122). This recording features the completed version by composer and conductor Michele Castelletti, with a chamber orchestra. Symphony No. 10 is the most passionate and emotional of Mahler's works," says Castelletti. The composer's Symphony No. 10 uses the same instruments as Schoenberg's arrangement of Mahler's Symphony No. 4 for chamber orchestra, which inspired this complementation.
