Ronquich & Herreweghe first appearance at NIFC! Chopin" on period instruments! The famous German pianist Alexander Ronquich makes his first appearance on the NIFC label, playing an 1849 Erard. He will be accompanied by Philippe Herreweghe, a world authority on the period approach, and the Orchestre des Champs Elysées, also making their first appearance on the label. The "Poet of the Piano" Chopin's "Piano Concerto No. 2" and "The Prairie", a symphonic poem by the 19th century Polish master Noskowski, will be performed by Lonquich. The balance and blend of the 1849 Erard played by Ronquich and the sound of the period orchestra led by Herreweghe and the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, and the synergistic effects that appear in the music, are endlessly enjoyable.
