Bach's French Suites performed by the famous Polish female virtuoso, Stawaltz! Lilianna Stawaltz, a Polish female keyboardist of ancient music background whose vibrant performance in Scarlatti's "Sonatas" arranged for violin and harpsichord (DUX1668) is still fresh in our memories, has recorded the complete "French Suites" by Bach, this time as a soloist! Stawaltz, who studied with world-famous musicians such as Jughet Dreyfus and Władysław Kwosiewicz, gives a fine performance of Bach's "French Suites," which is a testament to the current richness of old music in Eastern Europe, especially in Poland. The instrument used is a replica model of Pascal Tascan's harpsichord from the Edinburgh Museum (in the possession of Krzysztof Kris's studio). Tokyo M-Plus
