This is a collection of recordings by Raoul Kocharski, a passionate pianist who has made many world premiere recordings for the Acte Prealable label in Poland and has become one of the label's signature series. Kocharski's piano skills were highly praised by Anton Rubinshtein from an early age, and his performance of Chopin was especially appreciated as he studied under Karol Mikli, the last pupil of Chopin. As a composer, he was greatly influenced by Liszt's pupil Ludwik Marek. The piano trios on this album were probably composed during Kocharski's detention in Germany during World War I.
