This time, he takes on Rachmaninoff's collection of preludes and the exercise "Sound Pictures," Op. 33. The 10 preludes are in C-sharp minor, nicknamed "The Bells," and Op.23. The brilliant technique of this piece is a must-see. Although "Pictures of Sound," Op.33 is known today as a total of eight pieces, Paley performs it using the 1914 Gutheil first edition, so numbers 3, 9, and the originally missing number 4 are not included.
