A disc full of French spiritCamille Pepin, composer-in-residence of the Orchestre de Picardy, presents "The Sound of Trees," a concerto for clarinet and cello. This work was highly acclaimed in France, where it was nominated for the Victoire de la Musique in 2020. The clarinet and cello engage in a stimulating dialogue over minimal-music-like ticking rhythms. Julien Hervé, who plays clarinet, was solo clarinetist at Les Siecle from 2006-2013, and currently serves as artistic director of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society. Jan Levionova is the cellist of the Hermes String Quartet since 2019, as well as a soloist with numerous orchestras. The coupling is Lili Boulanger and Debussy. Camille Pepin has arranged their works into an orchestral version, which has a more modern feel while maintaining the world of the works. King International
