Description:

New folklore from Poland. Tuleje is a trio consisting of Gosia Zagajewska (vocals), Ksawery Wojcinski (double bass), and Wojtek Kurek (drums). The trio weaves a sound with a daring perspective, chewing on the folk music of eastern Wielkopolska, with references to jazz, blues, early music, and free improvisation. The repertoire of songs is based on folk melodies from the villages around Konin. The lyrics are from the pen of vocalist Gosia Zagajewska, who is also a poet, and both the melodies and lyrics are strongly inspired by ancient songs.
