This is a collection of early recordings by Jorge Borretto (1914-1990), one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century from the Caribbean and Cuba, recorded in the early 1950s before his Carnegie Hall live performance in 1974 and his contract with Decca. The early recordings from the early 1950s, recorded live at Carnegie Hall in 1974 and before his contract with Decca, include some of Bollett's most unusual repertoire, such as "Latin American Music" and "Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2. Bollett, who studied piano with Godowsky and Sapperton at Curtis Music in the U.S., also has the unique distinction of having come to Japan after World War II as the director of music at GHQ.
