Nao Shibata was a giant who paved the way for new music for audiences through his activities that encompassed not only as a composer but also as a musicologist and critic. The CD and DVD "Nao Shibata and His Time" reveals the full scope of his accomplishments, which demonstrate his macroscopic worldview. Following the previous release (FOCD9470/5), which won the Excellence Award at the Japan Arts Festival, this "Second Phase" is a 3CD/3DVD collection of valuable performances and recordings supervised and documented by Sangakusha. In particular, "50 Years of Nao Shibata" on DVD-3 is a video of a concert the composer gave in 1995 in front of an audience at the end of his 79-year life.
