The album, titled "Brazilian Impressions," features a variety of compositions in traditional styles, neo-romanticism, modernism, and nationalism, including jazz, bossa nova, choro, frevo, and samba. It was inspired by a two-week tour in Brazil in 2015, during which violinist Andréage met with local musicians and was inspired by them, and pianist Erika Ribeiro joined the tour. Since then, Andréage and Ribeiro have formed a good collaborative relationship. Except for Villa-Lobos, the other composers are largely unknown in Japan, but all the pieces are lively and enjoyable.
