This release features works by mid-career French composer Marc-André Dalbavie. Highly praised by Pierre Boulez, Dalbavie has worked extensively as a resident composer with the Orchestre de Cleveland and Orchestre de Paris. His concertos are known for the attention they attract each time a new work is released, with eminent players such as Emmanuel Pahud and Eiichi Chizaiwa serving as soloists at the premiere. This album features four works by Dalbavie that are avant-garde in style, yet accessible.
