Description:

Twenty-four preludes by Tsintzeze, one of Georgia's (Georgia's) leading composers. The piece begins in C major, moves to the parallel key of A minor, then down one note to G major, and so on through the 24 keys. Although Zinzese left many fine instrumental works, piano works are extremely rare, and this piece is not often performed. However, some of the pieces included here are very beautiful, and the collection is full of charm, incorporating elements of Georgian folk songs and folk dance rhythms. Pianist Fioria, who was born and raised in Tbilisi like the composer, paints the pieces with deep empathy. Naxos Japan
