Trevor Pinnock was one of the leaders of the boom in classical music that began in the 1970s, and with the English Concerts he organized, he has brought the appeal of this music to a wide range of music fans. In recent years, he has been active in exchanges with a new generation of period instrument players. To celebrate his 70th birthday, the SACD hybrid disc released in 2016 has now been re-released as a standard CD. The works were recorded in his native Canterbury, using his beloved instrument, which had been his companion for many years.
