Late Night Laments, his sixth album, is a serene and sweet pop album that resonates in the still of night. Backed by Richard Barbieri (ex-Japan~Dolphin Brothers) and Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree, Gong, Kavous Trabi of Knife World, and Evan Carson of I Am the Morning. Brian Hulls, a fellow member from the Plenty days, co-produced the album, which was mixed by his friend Steven Wilson, a close ally. Callum Malcolm, known for his work with Blue Nile and Prefab Sprout, mastered the album. As evidenced by "Northan Ran" and "'I'm Better Now," which were released as previously distributed singles, the lyrical and romanticized worldview created by its ambient atomosphere shines with a universal light. This 2-CD set includes a bonus disc with an extra track featuring Peter Hamill. Includes lyrics and bilingual translation. Commentary: Junichi Yamada
