Masaaki Yuasa's first feature film "Mind Game" released on Blu-ray! The animated feature film "Mind Game" is the first feature-length film directed by the genius animator Masaaki Yuasa. A hybrid movie that fuses live-action, 2D, and 3D, and metamorphoses from back alleys to outer space with superb craftsmanship. The music, which gives momentum and depth to this innovative visual expression, was composed by Seiichi Yamamoto, internationally acclaimed musician with units such as ROVO and Rashinban. The voice cast, in collaboration with Yoshimoto Kogyo, includes Koji Imada, Takashi Fujii, Tomomitsu Yamaguchi, and others, and has created quite a stir. In 2004, when major animation films were released one after another, the film won two awards (the Japan Media Arts Festival Grand Prize and the Mainichi Film Concours Daito Noburo Prize). In addition, at the Fantasia International Film Festival (Montreal, Canada), the film won a total of five awards, including the Jury's Best Film Award and the Audience's Best Animated Film Gold Award, and was also highly acclaimed overseas. This award-winning film is a hot topic!The film won the Oto Noburo Prize at the Mainichi Film Contest, the Grand Prize in the Animation Division at the Japan Media Arts Festival, the Grand Prize at the KINOTAYO Film Festival in Paris, the Award of Excellence in the Animation Division at the Montreal Fantasia International Film Festival, and four other awards! This is the first film directed by Masaaki Yuasa, one of Japan's leading directors. His original feature film "Dawn Tells Lou's Song," released in 2017, won the Crystal Prize, the highest award in the feature film category at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, making him the third Japanese director in history after Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. He also received the Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Award as an individual.
