Soulful swamp jam band JJ Gray & Mofro return with their 10th album in 9 years! The songs and sound are a condensation of various roots music such as funk, southern soul, southern rock, blues, New Orleans, and gospel, and the band's groove and Gray's gentle yet powerful voice are all top-notch. JJ Gray & Mofro was formed in the mid-1990s in Jacksonville, Florida, by John Higginbotham, a.k.a. JJ Gray, under the name Mofro Magic. In 2001, the band changed its name to Mofro and signed with Fog City Records. In 2007, the band signed with Alligator Records and released "Country Ghetto" under the name JJ Gray & Mofro. Their soulful, swampy southern sound and lyrical lyrics were highly acclaimed and featured in various media.In 2015, he released "Ol' Glory" on the Provogue label.
