Described as "dry and beautiful" (Pitchfork), "stunning" (Uncut), and "the most remarkable thing to come out in years" (The Sunday Times), Keeley's debut LP, Debris (2020), and follow-up, Limbs (2022), have been released by Nico, Beth Gibbons, Aldous Harding, Nick Cave, Anohni, and Scott Walker.The bleak and ominous landscape surrounding Keeley's North Yorkshire home seems to inhabit her third LP, The Hollow, featuring Matthew Bourne and Colin Stetson and again featuring Ross Downes as producer, She sought to expand both her voice and her music. Drawing on elements of religious music, minimalist post-classical, dark ambient, and film and theater soundtracks, she layered vocals to resemble a chamber choir and applied pitch shifts and other digital processing to shift from clear statements of intent to mumbled, numb utterances. She moved from a clear statement of intent to a mumbled, insensate vocalization.
