CD with ambitious content by Canadian-U.S. violinist Maia Cabeza Maia Cabeza was born in 1992 in Japan and is of Argentine descent. After studying at the Curtis Institute of Music, she studied further in Berlin, where she won second prize at the 2018 Bach Competition in Leipzig. On this CD, in addition to leading modern Eastern European composers such as Janacek, Enescu, and Bartók, the CD also features Hungarian ⇒ Swiss composer Sándor Veresh (1907-1992), the well-known oboe player Heinz Holliger (1939-), and the Czech who died unceremoniously in a concentration camp, the Erwin Schulhoff (1894-1942), and a diverse array of composers are featured.
