A comparison of Haydn's Divertimentos on period and modern instruments! This interesting CD features Haydn's six divertimentos played on period and modern instruments, both flutes played by Anna Jutunuhina, born in Arkhangelsk, northwest Russia. Born in Arkhangelsk in northwestern Russia, Jutnuhina began studying flute at the age of 8. She studied at the local conservatory, the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and then at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands. The two performances, period and modern, are interesting because they can be compared directly, not only in terms of tone and pitch, but also in terms of the instrument and the way the music is played. Of course, both performances are of an extremely high standard. This is a very long CD (87 minutes). Please note that it may not play well on some players. Tobu Shoji Co.
