A Collection of New Works by John CernaisA collection of new works by Paris-based composer John Cernais in 2017, all of which are world premiere recordings. John Cernais is Dutch, born in 1948, but has been based in Paris for many years. Many of the performers are longtime collaborators of Cernay's: the crystal bachet used in the eight poems is an instrument in which numerous glass rods are flicked with wet fingers to create a fantastic sound. It is more expressive than the glass harp or glass harmonica, which also use glass, and has become increasingly popular in recent years. Tobu Land System
