He is also one of the world's leading Schubert players, and his recordings of all of Schubert's piano works are highly acclaimed. In recent years, he has been breaking new ground by taking up the challenge of playing French music, a repertoire he has dared to avoid. Dalbert studied under Vlad Perlemuter, who studied under Alfred Cortot, and in addition to his refined sensibility, he also demonstrates his deep intellect in French music.This album is a collection of Debussy's piano works, following the 1997 RCA recording of "Debussy: Preludes, Vol. 1, Film No. 1. The sound is thoroughly examined, but not limited to tone; the individuality of each piece is beautifully portrayed, and the changes in tone, as well as tempo, exquisite pauses and phrasing, and composition of the pieces, are all perfectly controlled. The instrument used for the recording was the famous Italian instrument Fazioli. Dalbert himself is very fond of this instrument, which he has been playing in concert recently. The Fazioli has a wide variety of tones and attracts many pianists with its deep and transparent sound. Dalbert has carefully selected the tones of the Fazioli and recorded them in the best possible way. King International
