Amir and the Sniffers, the lightning-fast garage punk revolutionaries who have captivated the likes of Fufi, Weezer, and King Gizzard! The Australian garage punk band Amir and the Sniffers, with their electrifying garage punk sound, energetic vocals and adrenaline-pumping live performances, are set to be the eye of the typhoon in 2019. Debut album released! Formed in Melbourne in 2016 by Amy Taylor (vo), Gus Roemer (b), Bryce Wilson (ds) and Declan Martins (g), the band independently released two EPs that sold out immediately, followed by two 12" compilations released in 2018 that made the UK Top 40 on the analogue charts.In the same year, he was selected to open for the Foo Fighters in Australia, where Weezer also performed, despite being a newcomer to the band. In addition, they were nominated for a newcomer award at the Q Awards hosted by the British music magazine Q Magazine. In his home country, he is signed to Fightless, the label run by King Gizzard and Lizard Wizard, who are also scheduled to perform at Fuji Rock; in the U.S., to ATO, which includes Alabama Shake; and worldwide, to Rough Trade, a prestigious British label.
