Master Bělohlávek again! The Czech master Bělohlávek, who sadly passed away in May 2017. The Decca label has released a number of Dvořák works. All of them are impressive masterpieces, drawing from the Czech Philharmonic a rich sound full of warmth and tenderness. One of his favorite works is the great symphonic poem "My Homeland" by Smetana, a composer from his native Czech Republic. Smetana was a pioneer in the development of the National Music School, which was closely related to Czech nationalism, and is widely loved in the Czech Republic as the "founder of Czech music. His masterpiece "My Homeland" is a magnificent work of six pieces based on Czech buildings, landscapes, and historical events, especially the second piece "Vartava," which is often performed as "Moldau" in concert in Japan. Bělohlávek is particularly fond of "My Homeland," which he has performed with Japanese orchestras. In his home country, the Czech Republic, Bělohlávek often performs it at the opening concert of the country's largest music festival, "Prague Spring," held in May. This is a masterpiece of Bělohlávek's art, and will remain in his discography for a long time to come. Universal Music/IMS
