Seattle indie rock band Deep Sea Diver, led by Jessica Dobson. They released their fourth album "Billboard Heart" on Sub Pop. Participating artists: Madison Cunningham, Yuki Matthews (The Shins), Caroline Rose, Greg Reyes Seattle's Deep Sea Diver will release their fourth album, Billboard Heart, on Sub Pop. In addition to the previously released title track, the new offering will include such highlights as "What Do I Know," "Emergency," "Let Me Go" (a collaboration with Grammy winner Madison Cunningham), and "Shovel." The album puts the band in the same league as St. Vincent, TV on the Radio, and Flock of Dimes, bands that have abandoned the "must sound this way" and "must say that" and found a new embellishment and magnetism in indie rock. Jessica Dobson (main songwriter and guitar player) breaks with her past here and greets the future by letting go of it, as she barks in the rapturous title track. It is a victory over self-doubt in a coup that at first felt like a failure, but became an opportunity to find new freedom/belief/strength. The 11 songs on the record feel like a new anthem for finding one's own path and become the heartbeat of it. The songs were written by Dobson, Peter Mansen (Dobson's partner, drummer, and co-writer of the band), and Elliot Jackson (synth player), who played them themselves.Yuuki Matthews, Caroline Rose, and Greg Leisz, formerly of The Shins, also contributed to the album. The album was produced by Jessica Dobson and Andy D. Park, with additional production by Adam Schatz, mixed by Park, and mastered by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone.
