The DNA Trio was formed in 2005 by graduates of the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. The trio, whose members have achieved remarkable success in their respective fields, has been highly praised by Rainer Kussmaul and Sadao Harada, and is one of China’s leading ensembles, enjoying a string of successes in concert halls across the country. This set is a collection of live recordings from a concert series in which the trio performed Beethoven’s complete piano trios in 2025 to commemorate their 20th anniversary. This 5-disc set includes eight piano trios—including an arrangement from the Septet—as well as an arrangement of the song “Ich liebe dich” and Beethoven’s own piano trio version of his Symphony No. 2. The performance of “The Ghost” on CD 5 was given on April 24, 2025, the very day the ensemble celebrated its 20th anniversary. Tokyo M Plus
