This is the definitive collection of Bernstein's musicals, including "West Side Story," as well as recordings of Bernstein's works in a variety of formations. As a pre-release, we are releasing a 25-CD box set highlighting Bernstein as a composer. The box set includes Bernstein's own recordings for CBS and Sony Classical, as well as his musical works for CBS and Sony Classical, including the classic "West Side Story," songs, chamber music, brass ensembles, and jazz arrangements. This 25-disc box set also includes Bernstein's musical works from CBS and Sony Classical, including the masterpiece "West Side Story.DISC1-9: Bernstein's own compositions on 9 CDs, including symphonies, "West Side Story" - Symphonic Dances, Mass, Chichester Psalms, and Serenade, recorded between 1960 and 1974, have been remixed and mastered from the original analog masters and remastered at 24bit/192kHz. DISC10-19: "West Side Story" covers various recordings of Bernstein's theater productions (musicals), including his most famous Broadway cast recording from 1957 and two film soundtrack recordings from 1961. Included are the 1956 original and the 1973 Chelsea version of "Candide," the 1958 TV cast version of "On the Town," and the rare 1950 original cast recording of "Peter Pan.Also included is the "Levard Bernstein Songbook," a compilation of solo pieces from his theater productions (DISC 19); DISC 20-21: a variety of Bernstein's vocal music and songs, including "Songfest"; DISC 22: arrangements and chamber works by Joshua Bell, Zabine Meyer, Richard Stoltzman, Wynton Marsalis, and Yo-Yo Ma; and DISC 23: arrangements for brass ensemble by Canadian Brass.
