Alexander Kobrin's Rachmaninoff!Alexander Kobrin is a Russian pianist with an illustrious career that includes first prize at the 1999 Busoni International Piano Competition, third prize at the 2000 Chopin International Piano Competition, second prize (highest prize) at the 2003 Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, and first prize at the 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. He won the first prize at the 1998 Mravinsky Competition in St. Petersburg, the Classical Revolution Prize of the ADAMI Association in France, and the Artist of the Year Award from the French classical information website ResMusica. Pianist Frederic Doria-Nicolas is the founder of the Fondamenta label and the recipient of several awards, including Artist of the Year (2009). This recording of Rachmaninoff's works for two pianos was nominated for the ICMA (International Classical Music Awards) in the chamber music category.*This album includes two "Fidelity CDs" mastered for hi-fi audio and two "Mobility CDs" mastered for computer and car audio (with identical content) as bonus discs, for a total of four discs.
