Baroque violinist Boris Begelman's authentic solo debut album is now available from Harmonia Mundi, Germany. Boris Begelman was born in Moscow in 1983 and studied baroque violin at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and postgraduate performance studies with Lyubimov. He then studied in Italy with Enrico Onofri and others; as of 2015, he is also a soloist and member of Il Complesso Barocco, Accademia Bizantina, Il Pomo d'Oro, Capella Gavetta, and others. Even though Telemann has recorded many sonatas for wind instruments, the pieces in this recording are violin sonatas, which are not so well known, but as is typical of Telemann, who studied violin from a very young age, the pieces are filled with violin performance features.This performance is filled with the charm of Telemann's violin, including Begelmann's beautiful sound filled with rich song and sweet melodies in minor keys. * is the world premiere recording.
