This film was shot live at the Festival Theater Baden-Baden in May 2013. Bass-baritone Erwin Schrott, who sings the title role, hails from Uruguay. He has attracted attention since his debut and has quickly taken the world's opera houses by storm, winning many fans with his rich voice and courageous appearance. He has been a regular guest at Covent Garden, La Scala, the Florence May Festival, and the Metropolitan Opera, and made his Japan debut in 2006 with a performance of Don Giovanni at the Met's Japan Tour. In 2012, she visited Japan to perform "Figaro" at the Vienna State Opera, where she charmed the audience with her wonderful voice.In addition to Schrott, the cast includes Netrebko as Donna Anna and other singers who are currently the focus of attention. Although it is not a permanent opera house, the Baden-Baden Festspiele, which has been putting its energy into opera performances for the past several years, is also notable for its stage production directed by the genius Philip Himmelman.
