Her tenth studio album, and debut release on Concord Records, takes its album title from the opening track (a soul-searching reflection on the fortitude that comes from weathering life's incessant storms) and is uncompromising about the human condition, But it is a selection of songs that speak fundamentally illuminating truths, furthering her legacy. Many of the album's lyrics were born out of the question, "How do we move through this landscape? I don't know if there is an answer to that question. I don't know if there is an answer, but it was very cathartic to put that anger and anxiety into music. But ultimately, I want people to take whatever they need from this album and make the songs part of their own story," he comments. Recorded primarily at the legendary Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, the album features a diverse lineup of musicians including Wendy Melvoin (former guitarist for Prince and the Revolution), drummer Matt Chamberlain (Bob Dylan, David Bowie), multi-instrumentalist Benny Bock (Lucy Dacus, Bebadovie), pedal steel guitarist Greg Reitz (Kacey Musgraves, Florence + Florence), and drummer Matt Chamberlain (Bob Dylan, Florence).
