Guitarist Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria), vocalist Anthony Green (Circa Survive), bassist Tim Payne (Thursday), and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday/Yellowcard), all active in the post-punk and hardcore scene, have joined forces to form L.S.DUNES. Payne (Thursday), and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday/Yellowcard) have joined forces to form L.S. DUNES. Releasing their debut album on Fantasy Records! L.S. DUNES is free from the expectations and aesthetics of their already successful career, sublimating heavy anthems with punk energy into a sound unlike any other. From the gripping and theatrical opening track "2022," to the crunchy and frenetic "Like Forever," to the sprawling "Permanent Rebellion," to the charming album closer "Sleep Cult," this album is full of songs that will shock and impress.Produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Circa Survive, Quick Sand) and recorded at his Studio 4 Recording in Philadelphia, PA. The composition of this album, which delves deeply into contemporary issues of fearlessness, dependency, nonconformity, and impermanence, was a collaborative effort. After the shock of the pandemic shutdown, close friends and mutual admirers quickly realized that "tomorrow" was not promised. Iero said, "I really didn't know if the day would ever come when we would be able to play this song together, in fact, none of us lifelong musicians would ever be able to play music for a live audience again." He also commented that "Permanent Rebellion" is a song about reclaiming what is yours. Rule added, "We wanted to make something that sounded like all the bands we've ever played with, but didn't sound like any one band in particular. Our roots are in punk rock and hardcore, and the vibe is hope for all lost souls.The seeds of L.S. DUNES were planted during rehearsals for their Christmas 2020 Thursday livestream event. Friends and acquaintances from some of their favorite bands were there. The chemistry during the serendipitous impromptu jam session was instantaneous, and with the addition of Circa Survive vocalist Anthony Green, it became organically apparent that this time the music would form the band. 180g weight LP Also released on bubblegum pink colored vinyl.
