Debut album by singer Ariana Neikrug, winner of the 2015 Sarah Vaughan International Competition. Produced by Grammy-winning pianist/arranger Lawrence Hogbud. This vocal work includes covers of pop/70s R&B classics from the Great American Songbook, as well as two originals. According to Hobgood, "Ariana is an intelligent and complex person. She is the most theoretically minded singer I have ever worked with in terms of knowing music. She understands the basic structure of music and how to talk about it. She has a healthy combination of being very driven and very open minded to suggestions from others. Those are the characteristics of a singer with a long career." So here is a very promising jazz singer who is only 25 years old!
