The festival ran for two weeks beginning in late July 2016, with a total of nine performances. The Colon Theater in Buenos Aires is one of the three largest theaters in the world, along with the Milan Theater in Italy and the Paris Opera House. Sargan was born in 1916 and was alive when this performance took place, but died on August 19, 2016, having just celebrated his 100th birthday in June. Sargan was known as a piano virtuoso, but he also composed and arranged nearly 400 pieces, and this performance featured some of his best-known works.
