Barison was born in Venice in 1885. His father, Giuseppe Barison, a painter, worked as a violinist throughout Europe in the first half of the 20th century. His activities were hampered during World War II because of his anti-fascism.After the war, he became general director of the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. His works show the heights of his violin technique as a virtuoso, while incorporating Hungarian-style atmospheres and mazurka rhythms with elegance and finesse. The works heard on this album are sometimes meditative, sometimes softly sung. This is a good and soothing project disc. Farasca studied in Italy and received a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is considered one of the leading Italian violinists of his generation and is active in orchestral and chamber music, including his appointment as concertmaster of the Tyrol Symphony Orchestra (Innsbruck) in 2016.
